I moved my family here from Chicago 50 years ago, where I worked in the SEARS Tower, and have LOVED every moment of being involved in Petoskey.
There are not many of us here, 5,800 in the city of Petoskey and 33,000 full time residents in Emmet County. That number doubles to over 60,000 when you count all the resort homeowners, who are not primary residents.

Up to 50 professional musicians, performing at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2026, led by a world class director Dr. Libor Ondras from Serbia. They inspire 200 students who play string instruments in our area schools.
From it’s beginning in 1875 as a Methodist Church Chautauqua, the 400 cottage owners in Bay View have led the community and a wide variety of quality music and philosophical education. It’s open from April through the end of October and features a wonderful opera and musical every year.
I’m proud to have assisted the owners with coming to Petoskey. The food is outstanding. The children will enjoy the entertaining chefs at the hibachi tables.
Outstanding breakfast and lunches plus catering. They make their sandwiches with Crooked Tree Breadworks products.
YES, a NEW “old-fashioned” quality movie theater in downtown Harbor Springs. Manned by volunteers.
GREAT food, with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. NOTE: be careful when you order spicy food.
My favorite place to walk through the woods and along the beach. You can find many Petoskey stones.
